I LOVE Life! I think its Absolutely wonderful. There's good and bad times, up and down BUT Life is great. I LOVE hard and don't give up easily. Been married since 19 in 1999. We have 3 dogs all with "K" names. I love God! I love my wife! I love kids! I love my family! "I'd choose life over death AND love over fear any day". I work from home! Getting Back Into Shape – The Self Portrait

Tip top shape.

Everyones goals are different and are starting at different points. But nonetheless, there are challenges that we face in order to get where we want to go, especially finding consistent time for exercise.

Which really comes down to a matter of priorities. You have to find a reason for getting into shape that is far greater than the other activities that you use that time for now. (like wanting your wife to think you’re super hot – j/k. IT really should be a reason more for yourself. Because then your success is based off someone else’s opinion.)

I was an athlete for most of my life so my starting point is pretty good, but it’s frustrating to not be able to do exactly what I’ve been used to doing on the track, weight room, or any other activity I choose to do.

But it will come. Just need to stay consistent with good solid workouts and with my diet.

An Evil Word

Diet!

“Oh, don’t say that.

I know, I know. But here’s a different way to look at the bad word…diet.”

I eat when I am hungry.
I eat smaller meals (which means I am hungry more often)
I eat veggies, fruits, and fish, dairy, & chicken.
I eat desserts too. Just in moderation or not as much.

The key to eating desserts is not to confuse being hungry and needing food, with wanting to snack and having desserts.

I also don’t focus eating the same meals over and over. I mix it up. What ever I have a taste for, but within reason. If your diet is the same old boring foods, then you won’t stick to it.

Most Important

Getting started.

It’s taking the first step to get started and stop making excuses or procrastinating. At first it might seem like a challenge to get started everyday. But once you’re there you’ll be ok.

Just do it.

Make some small reachable goals. Then as you accomplish them today, or this week, make some new ones. As you accomplish more goals increase the challenge.

Keep In Mind

That it’s about your overall trend.

If you have a bad day or week, don’t give up and throw in the towel. Look at how good you’ve been doing and use that to keep you motivated to keep it up.

You’re gonna’ have some bad days and some bad weeks, but the overall trend of you getting back into shape will be good.

Have a blast. Do something today. Go for a walk. Eat a few smaller meals. Drink 8 glassed of water. Stretch. Only have 4 cookies instead of eating the whole row. lol
